I love the way the little harbours of the east coast nestle at the bottom of the cliffs and curl in on themselves, wrapping their sturdy piers around the fishing boats. The forests and hills of the border country and central Scotland have led me to experiment with a darker palette of striking contrasts to express the patterns of the landscape against heavy skies.
