When we lived in the Midlands we established and enjoyed a large herb garden. Now, without the necessity to try to keep in control of the planting, I enjoy visiting other people's gardens. My paintings of gardens express the contrast of formal garden structure giving order to the wild habit of herbs, wild flowers and in India tropical growth. I have made a series of paintings of the patterns of light through trees. These are painted in Acrylic Guache and the intense colour is reminiscent of stained glass.
